About Sridevi Kapoor
Sridevi, born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, is a superstar of Hindi film industry. She has also worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. Sridevi was born in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu on 13 August 1963. She started her career as a child actor at the age of four in Tamil movie Thunaivan and continued to act as a child artist in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. She played her first adult role at age 13 with the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu (1976). She made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in Solva Sawan (1978), Mawaali (1983), Tohfa (1984), Naya Kadam (1984), Masterji (1985), Maqsad (1985), Nazrana (1987), Mr. India (1987), Waqt Ki Awaz (1988), Chandni (1989). She also received critical acclaim for movies such as Sadma (1983), Nagina (1986), ChaalBaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Gumrah (1993), Laadla (1994), Judaai (1997). After a 15-year-long hiatus, Sridevi returned to films with English Vinglish (2012). In 2013, the Government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor. Sridevi married film producer Boney Kapoor in 1996 and they have two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi.At the age of 54, on February 24, 2018 she passed away in Dubai after a massive cardiac arrest.
